What's new
What's new in the WikiChallenge extension. Chrome updates it on its own. See it on the Chrome Web Store
0.4.2 · Finishing touches
- Changed your mind during the countdown? “Give up”, in the side panel or on the destination page, cancels the game for everyone, with no result (a daily challenge attempt stays used).
- Closed the game tab? The bar now offers “Give up” next to “Resume”, and giving up always reads “You gave up”.
- “Close the game's tabs” on the result closes the game page and the destination page, and their tab groups with them.
- One language for your account: the side panel, the website and your emails follow it. Change it in Settings or on the website; a language picked before signing in becomes your account's.
- Invitation notifications work right after installing, the side panel notices when you sign out on the website, and “Open WikiChallenge” on the home page opens it where you left it.
- The French version now says « tu », like the website.
0.4.1 · Challenge your friends
- Not signed in? The side panel opens on today's challenge, with one button to play it right away as a guest.
- Played the daily challenge as a guest? Your result shows where you would rank today, and creating your account keeps that place. It takes an email and a code, nothing else.
- “Challenge a friend” under every result opens a Duo waiting room and copies its link; “Invite a friend” in the Friends tab does the same for someone who isn't on WikiChallenge yet.
- Add any player of the daily ranking as a friend in one click.
- Share a result: a link to its own page on wikichallenge.org, an image for your stories, WhatsApp, X, Bluesky and more — never your route, so the daily stays secret.
- Never miss the daily challenge: a badge on the toolbar icon until you have played, and a notification at noon. Off in a click in Settings.
- Premium is coming: a small bar and a card show what it will bring, and “Notify me” puts you on the waiting list.
0.4.0 · Friends
- A Friends tab: add a player by name, see who has their panel open, and press Play to start a game with them.
- Friends can invite you to a game by name. The invitation appears in your side panel with Join and Decline, and as a Chrome notification even when the panel is closed.
- Choose who can invite you: your friends (the default), anyone, or nobody. A game link always works.
- The players you have faced are suggested in the Friends tab, and the result of a game offers to add your opponent as a friend.
- A new look: a soft dark theme, a pixel icon — a W planting a chequered flag — big pixel numbers for the timer, the game page in cyan and the destination in yellow.
- No more “I'm ready” in a Duo waiting room: joining is enough.
- The time shown on the Wikipedia page now matches the side panel's.
